Palm churchyard

Yew (Taxus baccata) was, at one time, used as ‘palm’ on Palm Sunday, therefore it is interesting that the Palm Churchyard, which is surrounded on three sides by cloisters, at Wells, Somerset, Cathedral, has a large, but not apparently very old, yew tree in its centre.

Photographed December 2018.
