Plant-lore Archive – February 2024

Posted on by royvickery |

February 2024 was an exceptionally quiet month with no new material being added to the Archive and no walks led or talks given.  Very few messages of interest were received via the website.  22 posts were added to the website’s Blog page. Much time was devoted to the editing and re-formatting of a potential dictionary of English local plant-names, and a visit was paid to Shaftesbury for its Snowdrop Festival.

One publication was produced:

Isabela Pombo Geertsma, Corné van der Linden, Roy Vickery & Tinde R. van Andel, ‘Why are plants named after witches and devils in north-western Europe?’, Journal of Ethnopharmacology 325.
