St David’s Day, 1 March, 2025 was celebrated in a rather restrained way in  Cardiff, the capital of Wales, the main events being the Lord Mayor’s St David’s Day Civic Service, in the City Parish Church, at 11.30 a.m., and later a short informal ‘non-military’ parade through part of the city centre.  Various events were also held in the Cardiff Bay area, at the Senedd building and the Millennium Centre.

Few people wore daffodils (Narcissus cvs.), mostly artificial ones produced Marie Curie, a charity devoted to the support of people suffering from cancer.  Even fewer people wore leeks (Allium porrum), all of them being rather crude artificial ones.  Daffodils decorated the church for the Civic Service; some people in the parade wore, or carried, daffodils, and some of the children’s craft activities in the Senedd building involved making daffodils.
