Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, held its annual Mistletoe Festival on Saturday 7 November 2024, while the town was still recovering from dramatic flooding on 24 November.  Shops and business premises around the town were decorated with bunches of mistletoe, and  a full day of activities was promised for all the family.  However heavy rain, blustery winds, and low temperatures persisted throughout the day, so activities were restricted to the crowning of the Mistletoe Queen by the Holly Prince, in the Pump Rooms.  This attracted an audience of about ten; as one of the organisers described it ‘we are thin on the ground’.

It seems that there were no morris dancers expected, and, although the Druids had promised to come and bless the mistletoe in the afternoon, this was cancelled ‘due to severe weather warnings’.  The Santa Run, scheduled for later in the day, also had to be cancelled due to too few people signing up for it.
