Kevin Fortey, aged 44, of Cwmbran, Gwent, has broken his own world record by growing the heaviest ever sunflower, Helianthus annuus, using ‘bat poo’. The flower weighed 6.44kg,  ‘the same as a bowling ball’ [Metro, 27 February 2023].
