Nettle jelly

2014-07-23 07.35.32Nettle Jelly, ‘subtly fragranced … great with lamb & pork, but equally good with cold meats & cheeses’, is produced by the Hawkshead Relish Company, using ‘hand gathered nettles [Urtica dioica] from Spoon Hall Estate in Coniston’ [Cumbria, England].  The list of ingredients reveals that despite its name nettles form only 5% of these, the main ingredients being sugar and apple.
