11 a.m.: Summer Flowers, walk starting from the Woodfield Pavilion, Tooting Common, London Borough of Lambeth. Free, booking not required.
Report: 18 people turned up and, despite the rival attraction of ripe blackberries (Rubus fruticosus), apparently enjoyed an hour walking around the edge of the field, discussing some of the plants currently flowering. Although sun didn’t shine, rain held off until after the walk had finished.
2.30 p.m.: Exploring our Flora, walk in Unigate Wood Local Nature Reserve, London Borough of Lambeth. Free, but booking essential.
Report: Only three people gathered on a damp afternoon to spend about an hour recording plants on the site and discussing how conservation work might be carried out during winter 2024-25. A list of the plants recorded will be available in due course, and anyone wanting a copy is asked to contact vickery330@btinternet.com
