REMINDER: Weed walk, 31 March

Posted on by royvickery |

Weeds and other Neglected Plants, a walk led by Roy Vickery, Roupell Park Estate, London Borough of Lambeth, Friday 31 March 2023, starting at 11 a.m.; for further information see the Events page on this website.

Report:  Despite wet weather earlier (and later) in the day, 11 people turned up to spend about 80 minutes wandering around the area discussing some of the ‘weeds’ found there, these included Mediterranean nettle, Urtica membranacea, and four-leaved manyseed, Polyspermum tetraphyllum, a species which until recently was virtually unknown in London, but which now thrives on the Estate.

‘Really enjoyed the walk and you were brilliant.’

Image, red deadnettle (Lamium purpureum), dandelion (Taraxacum officinale agg.), and chickweed (Stellaria media), Roupell Park Estate, March 2023.
