Plant-lore Archive – June 2025

Posted on by royvickery |

June was another interesting and enjoyable month.  72 items of information were received from 70 contributors, most of them new, so the Archive now contains 9983 items from 3971 contributors.

22 posts were added to the website’s blog page.  The number of searches made of it rose to 270, but the number of useful messages received via the website remained disappointingly small.  Again it was found that many of the unsuccessful searches were the result of the item being searched for was spelt incorrectly.

Seven events, attracting a total of c.60 people were led.  A visit was made to the World Stinging Nettle Eating Championship.

It was reported on 30 June that 6199 hard copies and 540 kindle versions of Vickery’s Folk Flora had been sold (up from the 6121 and 505 reported on 9 July 2024).

Thanks to Carlos Bruzon for his report on Corpus Christi celebrations in Granada, to Jane Lawson for her continuing support, notably her response to the query concerning burdock in art, and to all our contributors.
